Javier Ponce, General Director of CDTI Innovation, an organization dependent on the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, participated on November 22 in the Spain-Thailand Innovation & Tech Dialogue: Healthy and Sustainable Food Products & Processes conference, which was held in Bangkok with the aim of generating a dialogue platform that allows Spanish entities in the food sector to show their capabilities and innovations in different areas.
BIOPLAT was also present at this event through an infographic/poster that served to give visibility to the platform among the Thai entities that participated in the meeting.
Thailand is one of the main exporters of agri-food products and maintains a consolidated food processing industry. Through the national initiative Food Innopolis aims to become the hub for agri-food technologies in the Asian region, attracting foreign investment from Japan, the US and Europe.
In addition, this country has one of the main industrial conglomerates in the agri-food and seafood sector internationally.
One of the new axes and strategic development commitment on the part of Thailand is the promotion of the circular economy. In 2021, it adopted its Bio Circular Green (BCG) economic model that integrates the bioeconomy, circular economy and ecological transition as part of a major push to transform its economy into one based on value and innovation.
