Spain is the first EU country to attract researchers in the Marie Sklodowska Curie Call for Proposals
Spain maintains its leadership, for the fifth consecutive year, in being the first country in the European Union to attract talent in the Marie Sklodowska Curie (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships 2023 call. 175 postdoctoral researchers will join Spanish universities and research centres.
This call finances the recruitment of research staff, of any nationality, with a maximum of 8 years of research experience, seeking advanced training and international, interdisciplinary and intersectorial mobility. The call has a budget of 258 million, of which Spain has obtained 32.4 million euros, representing a return rate of 19.3% of the European Union countries.
The 175 projects to be financed and developed in Spain were selected from among 1,025 projects submitted by Spanish institutions, which translates into a success rate of 17.07%, above the European average. In total, 7.918 proposals have been analysed in the call, of which 1,249 will be funded to be managed by the Research Executive Agency (REA).
The Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) was the Spanish institution with the greatest potential to attract talent in this call and the fourth at European level, with 27 projects.
